Leather Dyes

J & E Sedgwick use many dyes and finishes when manufacturing their leather.

All dyes, pigments and resins are now subject to strict Health and Safety legislation, and with this in mind J & E Sedgwick now ensure that all of the products used are free from Lead Oxides and other materials that were once used. This ensures that the employees and the end consumer will be risk free.

J & E Sedgwick use only the best dyes, pigments and resins from specialist companies who are renowned globally for their expertise and quality of their product. We work close with these manufacturers to enable our company to have the best supplier relationship as possible.

The secret of superb leather is also in the products we use, such as the above. The importance of successful leather is the attention to detail that our colourmatching department employ. Colourmatching can be easy and also very challenging.

Any colour can be sent to us for matching, from plain to the ridiculous. Some colours take longer to make than others. Often there are colours that once mixed seem right but can be way off once applied to the leather. It takes years of experience to colour match some of our easiest colours. The changes in the pigments from suppliers also hinders this problem.

However, J & E Sedgwick are always delighted to perform a colourmatching service for any client, no colour is too difficult (apart from Tartan!).
